Illinois Women's Rugby
Its not just a sport, its a legacy of sisterhood
Learn rules and positions, how to tackle better, and become stronger.
Founded in 1973, the Illinois Women's Rugby Club was one of the first female collegiate rugby programs established in the United States. Since then, it has become greatly significant to us to keep true to our forty-one years of excellency. Our team competes in both the spring and the fall seasons. During the fall, we travel across the nation competing against other D1 programs and in the spring we compete in Midwest-based tournaments. Many of our players who first join have never touched a rugby ball in their life. However, through engaging exercises and cooperation we aid each member into becoming a successful rugby player. Our open practices welcome each and every curious mind who wish to become part of our traditional legacy in the female collegiate rugby community. If you are unable to play, we greatly encourage fans to join us during our games and tournaments scheduled below.
